Mechanical engineer Chatzikonstantinou Konstantinos is active Energy Inspector of Buildings, with R.N. E.Y.EP.EN. 9357, registered in Register of Energy’s Inspector Y.P.E.K.A. The office undertakes the Energy Certification of your building and issuing its Energy Performance Certificate (E.P.C.).
What is E.P.C.?
E.P.C. is a document recognized by the Y.P.E.K.A., that issued by the Energy Inspector (who has been included in a special registry) and in which the energy efficiency of the building is reflected. With E.P.C. each building will be classified in energy class (there are nine categories, from A + to H), while the Inspector records recommendations to improve the energy efficiency of the building.
When Issuance of E.P.C. is Required?
Issuance of E.P.C. is required for all buildings with a total area of over 50 square meters, whose main use is residence, permanent and seasonal, offices, commercial uses, gathering spaces, education /training, temporary accommodation, health and social welfare, etc., as follows:
- By the end of construction of any new or completely refurbished building.
- From 09.01.2011: for each sale – purchase of single building and sale – purchase of a part of building (e.g. apartment), and rent but only in case of a single building.
- From 1.9.2012: for renting part of building for residence (eg apartment) and professional use.
- Issuance of E.P.C. is compulsory for the integration of residential buildings in the program “Saving at home”.
